In addition to these options, you should be able to find qualified professionals throughout the city who specialize in working with people who experience difficulties related to developmental delays, brain injuries and other cognitive impairments. You could connect with doctors, psychologists or therapists who work closely with children and adults alike, and seek treatment under special circumstances like mild intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder or Down syndrome. If no specialized providers are accessible to you, try reaching out to nearby general practitioners who often treat patients dealing with similar issues.
There are thousands of different kinds of developmental disorders affecting children and young adults every day around the globe. However, most diagnoses fall into just four broad categories:
Developmental Delays
Learning Difficulties
Mental Health Issues
Sensory Problems
If you suspect that your friend or family member suffers from a specific type of disorder, consider consulting specialists to diagnose his/her condition accurately and develop appropriate treatments suitable to meet his/her unique needs. Your doctor would go through a series of questions pertaining to symptoms which include physical limitations, medical history, dietary preferences, sleeping patterns, family dynamics, behavioural changes and environmental factors such as noise level and stress level. This procedure helps him/her identify if a particular problem exists and suggest effective ways to manage it accordingly.
This was my first experience having to deal with the concept of dealing with special needs education outside of school settings. In fact, I had only ever experienced one other person with disabilities that weren’t necessarily physically visible. They lived across town and we’d occasionally visit together. My mom would tell people she worked with him because he suffered from autism. He was around 4 years old then and his condition didn’t seem severe enough to warrant a formal diagnosis until several years later when another friend shared the story of discovering his mother had secretly taken him back to the doctor after noticing odd behaviour while shopping with her mother. At that point however, he began receiving speech therapy twice weekly sessions, which wasn’t unusual given that he received additional accommodations in mainstream schools already. But as far as I knew, he attended kindergarten in elementary school alongside other peers his age. And despite experiencing obvious signs of autism, he excelled academically and socially.
We offer high quality instruction in reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, math, science, history, geography and many other subjects at convenient locations across Canada. At TutorOne®, we understand the urgency of delivering exceptional education solutions for people facing severe barriers to accessing traditional schooling. We strive to fill this gap with innovative yet affordable programming models that allow our clients to participate in real classrooms without having to move away from their community...our programs teach kids where they live...while helping families find pathways forward together.
Why Tutor1? Because we put the family first. Not just a few but all the way to the top. The CEO makes sure he personally goes to every home once a week just to check on things. He wants to hear everything from teachers and parents alike. So does our Executive Vice President, his mother lives just around the corner and she visits homes daily. If we’re going to serve the whole family then why would I ever leave my own neighbourhood?! Why? Because they pay me to stay there. They pay us to take care of them. So I won’t go anywhere. But I will come from far away because no matter where you are you’ll always feel welcome.
Because we put a premium on customer satisfaction.

If you still believe otherwise, you must be stuck in the past. This edition isn’t meant to tell you everything you already knew. Instead, I hope to inspire you to expand beyond Swift current limits and discover other special needs professionals near you. If you do something like that, you’d be opening yourself up to endless possibilities. Why stop short when you could see everything else possible for your child after all? Who says he/she only belongs in Swift current? Think outside the box.
This is the first time I’ve gone through this entire database, and honestly speaking, I’m blown away. I literally started seeing things my mother never taught me to consider. For example, did you know there’s someone nearby whose life’s mission is helping blind folks read text books? Or that some kids are actually really good at music theory, despite being labeled “slow” because their IQ scores seem average? They’re all around you, so why won’t you seek them out? I guess you haven’t had enough experience yet. Maybe you should try again soon instead of giving up halfway through.
Your kids deserve to find themselves in places they feel comfortable and safe. Don’t put up roadblocks and limitations. It’s 2016, and the internet is a tool. Use it to your advantage and keep searching until you finally get the answers you crave most, like getting your kid accepted into college or making friends.
Before you go further, however, make sure you understand the terms associated with these categories. These groups include but are not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Disabilities, Dyslexia, Visual Impairment, Cognitive Impaired, Down Syndrome, Mental / Psychological Disorders and Multiple Difficulties.
If this sounds familiar, then I invite you to apply to become a teacher for Tutor One. People who care deeply about kids and strive for excellence in everything they do;

Who Should Adopt TutorOne’s Tutoring Methodology?
Every parent knows that the average public school education system has its faults, but few know that there are alternatives. Every year, parents become educated more about the effectiveness of individualizing children’s education. They understand that learning styles and learning strategies vary greatly among students and that students require additional focus and encouragement to excel, especially in subjects such as math, science, and reading. Students learn differently than adults; children absorb knowledge faster and retain it longer than adults can; and they’re less prone to procrastination. TutorOne’s comprehensive approach teaches kids to think positively, and teaches students when they don’t perform up to par.
Testimonial By A Parent Like You
"My son recently turned 15, and started taking Advanced Placement exams. He was doing quite poorly in Spanish II and English III, having scored only a 2 and 3 respectively. With one week left before he needed to take the AP test, I decided to enroll him in TutorOne Private Tutoring. His teacher had told me that he was a bright kid, but just didn’t put forth the effort required to excel. My son came home every day telling me about the amazing learning experience he was having with TutorOne. He did score a 4 on his Spanish II test, and his overall grade point average went from a 2.9 (D) to a 4.8 (A+) in Spanish, and a 1.7 (F) to a 4.0 (A) in English. Most importantly though, my son learned to love his studies and got a kick out of seeing his grades soaring. It was truly eye opening to see how one lesson per week changed everything." ~ Lisa H.,Parent, California
The TutorOne Difference
As you are now finding out, TutorOne offers a wide variety of different levels, age ranges, and subjects to accommodate all individual learning styles. What sets us apart from other programs is our commitment to educating and encouraging each student’s individuality, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning. TutorOne is committed to the belief that every student thrives best in a positive, fun-loving, nurturing learning environment. We encourage our students to explore new ideas and engage in hands-on learning situations. TutorOne does not believe that children benefit from being confined to a class room in front of a standard curriculum all day long.
The TutorOne Difference is about creating an engaging atmosphere in which kids feel motivated to excel. The majority of TutorOne schools operate as small academies; they offer individual learning environments that allow students to interact within a group or with one-to-one tutors.
