Special Needs Tutoring Harcourt FAQs
We would all be shocked by some of the things a few people could learn. For example a person who suffers a head injury once and suddenly becomes able to draw fantastic designs after years of paralysis. A patient who had no arms/hands but developed extraordinary artistic ability which resulted in an internationally acclaimed painting career or a disabled individual who became a professional pianist just because “she wanted to play piano better than her parents did.” These are only examples of the many positive outcomes of education. Every student deserves the same opportunities regardless of whether they live in an urban center or rural community. And every Canadian should have equal rights to receive quality academic services which provides lifelong educational potential. Unfortunately not everyone receives those opportunities including children living in remote areas. Children deserve the same chances in life as anyone else. And yet very little financial support exists today for specialized programs at postsecondary institutions for gifted students. We still see children being left behind, marginalized and treated inferiorly simply due to their physical health condition without regard to the other obstacles they must overcome daily. One size does not fit all. Each child presents unique challenges requiring customized solutions.

Websites Title: 2020 Digital Marketing Trends - 10 Most Important Factors
Description: The Internet is changing every day. To stay relevant online, you need to be aware of these changes so that you’re able to adapt quickly.
Children with these conditions tend to be born early, often with birth defects. They also face health issues like asthma, allergies, diabetes, hearing loss, epilepsy, heart problems, intellectual disability, obesity, osteoporosis, seizures and speech impairments. These disabilities often lead parents and teachers to question whether a child should attend regular schools. However, many people with special needs can live independently, work successfully, and contribute fully to society through adulthood.
If you’re interested in working alongside people living with special needs and helping them reach their full potential, consider joining TutorOne’s special needs teaching programme. As an independent teacher in Canada, you’ll receive training and support to deliver effective lessons that inspire learners to become active participants in their own education. And since you won’t need to rely on government funding, you can earn extra income without ever having a classroom under your belt. Learn More About Our Program Here.

Before learning how to teach a student who has a physical disability, emotional issues, behavioral disabilities, ADHD, specific learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, hearing loss, visual impairments, intellectual differences and many other challenges, first determine whether your school district offers Special Education services. Here is some information about finding answers to this question: https://www.councilofministers.on.ca/en/education/specialservices/policyandprocedures/guidanceforpeoplewithdisabilitiesandmentalhealthconditions/index.php

• Stroud Community College, 1601 Main Street East, 519-354-7333
• Harcourt Public Schools, 1112 Sarnia Trunk Highway N4C 2R3, 519-357-6000
• Alderwood Regional High School, 1760 Bayview Drive NW, 866-937-2621
If your local district does not provide special education programming then you should check out the Ministry Of Children And Youth Services website located under http://ontario.gov.on.aol.co...
Special Ed
We specialize in working with children who have additional health care, emotional care or behavioural challenges. Our unique philosophy is to work alongside these individuals rather than replace them. We strive to meet the child’s educational curriculum objectives through active strategies which increase opportunities and improve outcomes.
1. Education
The first thing prospective teachers need to ask themselves is “Can I educate a student who doesn’t fit into other classrooms?” If the answer is no, then their school should be avoided like plague. But what does education really mean anyway? Well, it could range anywhere from 1 hour once per week (for some basic developmental issues), 4 hours every Sunday for a few weeks (like speech therapy), or 12 hours a day Monday through Friday as part of a specialized program (such as occupational therapy). All of this depends largely upon the severity level and type of disability experienced by your kid or client.
2. Curriculum/Program
Now that they’re educated enough to recognize that some students won’t function well in regular classes, the next question many people ask is whether or not the curriculum provided by their local district fits those individual requirements. Unfortunately, that information varies wildly depending on state regulations which makes it extremely tricky to offer specific suggestions without knowing their unique situation firsthand. Some districts provide curriculums tailored specifically toward special needs students whereas others simply try to accommodate them to whatever extent possible. For example, the former would include materials designed around auditory processing disorders, visual impairment, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, language delays, motor skill deficits...etc. Whereas the latter would just focus on helping them learn the basics of math and literacy. Again, though, this is something parents must decide after interviewing several different programs and determining which ones match their own values and goals for their loved ones.
3.
Specialist School Counselor

What sets Harcourt apart? Students receive their academic instruction within a supportive environment created specifically around their unique strengths and weaknesses. These specialized classes address areas like communication, executive function support, mathematics, literacy, social interaction, self-help skills, physical development, speech and language therapy, visual acuity support and music therapy.
At Harcourt School of Education the mission statement focuses on the promotion of excellence through excellence in teaching, professional growth and community involvement. Our teachers, administrators and parents understand the importance and value of this approach, which ensures positive outcomes for everyone involved.
Tutor One provides personalized online tutoring sessions via Zoom technology in conjunction with our dedicated staff. Each session consists of an initial 30 minute assessment of the client’s specific skill gaps as well as his/her learning style preferences. Then, depending upon the findings, we recommend the most suitable content area and delivery method required to support the student(s). During the lesson, you can observe the teacher live streaming video feed as he/she demonstrates concepts being taught.
If there ever happen to be times in which the scheduled schedule conflicts with a family obligation, we ensure the safety and privacy of your child(ren).
If you had spent time watching these children playing outside without a single person talking to them you probably wouldn’t know whether they like to read, play sports or do anything other than sit inside reading comics and books. When you take a closer look into their eyes, you’ll realize they actually love doing nothing but playing games or sitting quietly staring at their favourite comic books. All that’s required of them is playing video games or drawing pictures on paper and sharing it with family members. Sometimes though, they lack confidence and become shy. Most times, once they see someone giving them attention and asking questions they tend to blurt “yes sir” every time, forgetting that they’re supposed to answer. Asking “can you show me?” helps these kids understand better how words work, which eventually leads to improving communication skills
They sometimes forget to eat and sleep properly and may not pay attention to hygiene matters. Sometimes they can also suffer from mild forms of mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety due to various circumstances. Children with intellectual disabilities in general are prone to develop speech impairment along with behavioural problems and physical impairments. However, their cognitive level varies greatly from child to child and one student might learn faster than another child despite having similar intelligence quotient scores at primary school age.
TutorOne provides a unique combination of quality and convenience for children with disabilities who live anywhere throughout North America. The company offers customized, one-on-one services that are tailored to meet specific needs of each client. All services are provided via the telephone and/or the Internet. Each service includes one-to-one interaction with a dedicated tutor who specializes in working with individuals ages five years old and above who have developmental delays, cognitive limitations, physical impairments or emotional disorders. Services range widely from reading instruction to math assistance, and include instruction in the areas of English language arts, mathematics, phonics, science, technology, health, music appreciation, social studies, writing, and visual art.

Who Should Adopt TutorOne’s Tutoring Methodology?
Every parent knows that the average public school education system has its faults, but few know that there are alternatives. Every year, parents become educated more about the effectiveness of individualizing children’s education. They understand that learning styles and learning strategies vary greatly among students and that students require additional focus and encouragement to excel, especially in subjects such as math, science, and reading. Students learn differently than adults; children absorb knowledge faster and retain it longer than adults can; and they’re less prone to procrastination. TutorOne’s comprehensive approach teaches kids to think positively, and teaches students when they don’t perform up to par.
Testimonial By A Parent Like You
"My son recently turned 15, and started taking Advanced Placement exams. He was doing quite poorly in Spanish II and English III, having scored only a 2 and 3 respectively. With one week left before he needed to take the AP test, I decided to enroll him in TutorOne Private Tutoring. His teacher had told me that he was a bright kid, but just didn’t put forth the effort required to excel. My son came home every day telling me about the amazing learning experience he was having with TutorOne. He did score a 4 on his Spanish II test, and his overall grade point average went from a 2.9 (D) to a 4.8 (A+) in Spanish, and a 1.7 (F) to a 4.0 (A) in English. Most importantly though, my son learned to love his studies and got a kick out of seeing his grades soaring. It was truly eye opening to see how one lesson per week changed everything." ~ Lisa H.,Parent, California
The TutorOne Difference

TutorOne is committed to the belief that every student thrives best in a positive, fun-loving, nurturing learning environment. We encourage our students to explore new ideas and engage in hands-on learning situations. The TutorOne Difference is about creating an engaging atmosphere in which kids feel motivated to excel. The majority of TutorOne schools operate as small academies; they offer individual learning environments that allow students to interact within a group or with one-to-one tutors.
