Special Needs Tutoring Fort Saskatchewan FAQs
1.What Is Your Learning Style?
Are you visual, listening, tactile, auditory, verbal, kinetic, visual–spatial learner? If yes, then online courses are great for you! But, if you happen to be an introvert, prefer face-to-face interaction over virtual communication, or just hate talking or reading in front of large groups, then traditional learning environments might still work better for you. Find out yourself what type of learning style you have and whether online courses fit well for you. Take the Myers Briggs Test or other tests to understand your personality types which can help narrow down your choices further.2.How Do You Like Working On A Group Project?
If working together on a group project sounds more appealing to you than sitting solo at home studying for hours every night, then online courses are probably not ideal for you.
TutorOne provides specialized tutoring programs across multiple subjects including Math, English/Language Arts, Science, History & Geography, Computer Skills & Technology, French Immersion, Business Management, Health Care, Life Sciences & Biotechnology and many other areas. Our highly trained instructors provide personalized instruction and individual attention to each child, ensuring they receive the most effective training possible! If you’re interested in enrolling in one of these courses, contact us today!
We offer customized learning solutions in a wide range of subject matter areas, which includes but is not restricted to;
Math / Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1& 2, Trigonometry, Statistics, Elementary Statistics, Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, Differential Equations, Probability and Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Health and Fitness, Humanities (History, English), Business, Economics, Accounting and Finance, Law, Legal Studies and Ethics, Psychology, Sociology, English Language Learners (ELL).
Tutor One offers a unique online service for both home and school settings. We understand that busy lifestyles often limit opportunities for in person lessons, especially during times like summer vacation or exam periods. As a result, online classes allow children to attend lessons whenever suits them best without sacrificing quality and consistency.
We often see children with ADHD struggle with managing attention because of hyperactivity. These kids have trouble sitting still due to their own excitement but then get anxious or lose focus once seated. If you happen to be dealing with kids who have trouble paying attention during sessions it can result in frustration. A few ways to combat this include making sure space in your classroom is ample enough for them to move freely without bumping other students, setting aside extra time for quiet activity like coloring sheets or drawing pictures. Avoid giving directions through verbal communication if possible instead use visual cues like highlighting certain items or showing examples in real terms. Remember it’s ok if a student does walk away before finishing their lesson as long as they are doing something else like listening to music which calms them. You can always revisit the topic with the group later once everyone has finished listening to music. Lastly speaking slowly and clearly ensures your words reach their ears and keeps both parties engaged. If you encounter issues getting these methods to work try asking parents to leave class until their kid settles down rather than sending them home early or calling security...
How can I find my ideal job?
If you’re wondering “Where should I go?” ask yourself “What would really motivate me?”. We believe there is no shortage of jobs available across Canada but sometimes having some knowledge of careers that interest you could mean a better outcome.
Why should you hire a special education specialist?
1. They teach children who struggle to read. These are children who learn differently than typical children, they often experience difficulty reading because of neurological reasons or due to their environment, like living around heavy traffic.
2. They teach children how to improve their reading skills. Most teachers of these types of children focus on teaching strategies to overcome their struggles. For example, some children will be able to memorize vocabulary words quickly but still lack comprehension of meaning behind those words. A good special ed teacher would work with a child in order to understand what makes them different and then develop strategies which will allow them to achieve academic mastery.
3. They provide individualized support that helps children become independent readers. Some parents worry about whether hiring a special education teacher will mean less attention from other educators. While this isn’t entirely true, having someone dedicated to working individually with your child will ensure that your relationship continues long after your student’s school career ends. They’ll continue to provide guidance through life and ensure your son or daughter remains academically prepared to enter college, university, or vocational training programs.
4. They’re affordable. In many cases special needs education costs only slightly higher than regular classroom tuition, sometimes significantly lower if you hire private schools.
5. They provide flexibility. Many students benefit most from one-on-one instruction rather than large groups. If you have more than one child needing special ed services you’ll find it easier to coordinate with multiple specialists rather than trying to manage one single group.
6. They offer ongoing mentorship. When you enroll in a program like this it usually requires a commitment of several hours per week.

5 Ways to Improve Student Learning Through Peer Coaching
Pace yourself
Make time for fun and play. Your student’s brain needs stimulation like everything else; otherwise they become bored and fall asleep in class. So try doing some creative thinking exercises together during free periods or after lunchtime, especially if your child wants help planning things for next term. Encourage him/her to use different colours of pencil instead of just writing with black ink. If he/she likes art then find ways to incorporate this interest. For example draw pictures of his favourite animals, make faces with coloured markers on paper, cut shapes out of construction paper and paste onto plain white paper to decorate. He’ll be able to feel proud of himself for making something beautiful without knowing why. When he sees these finished products hanging around in his bedroom it could motivate him to carry on working with drawing. Remember, children thrive off being challenged mentally and physically. By helping them make sense through exploration and experimentation you’re giving them chances to develop new skills. Don’t forget to include fun games for everyone once in awhile! Try playing boardgames or cards together, taking turns trying out crazy dance moves, jumping up and down, running round and round the house shouting ’boo’. Have friends come over to teach other kids basic steps. Or take them to go outside and run around pretending you’ve got jet engines strapped to your back! Keep it lighthearted but challenging enough for everyone to enjoy themselves.
Be positive
If your kid seems unhappy at school, ask questions to understand why - rather than assuming the problem lies with the teacher. Some children who struggle academically because they find school boring or stressful might just need extra support.
We provide specialized services, tailored specifically to individuals living with ASD. Our staff consist of educators and therapists trained in helping your child reach his/her maximum growth and development potential.

Who Should Adopt TutorOne’s Tutoring Methodology?
Every parent knows that the average public school education system has its faults, but few know that there are alternatives. Every year, parents become educated more about the effectiveness of individualizing children’s education. They understand that learning styles and learning strategies vary greatly among students and that students require additional focus and encouragement to excel, especially in subjects such as math, science, and reading. Students learn differently than adults; children absorb knowledge faster and retain it longer than adults can; and they’re less prone to procrastination. TutorOne’s comprehensive approach teaches kids to think positively, and teaches students when they don’t perform up to par.
Testimonial By A Parent Like You
"My son recently turned 15, and started taking Advanced Placement exams. He was doing quite poorly in Spanish II and English III, having scored only a 2 and 3 respectively. With one week left before he needed to take the AP test, I decided to enroll him in TutorOne Private Tutoring. His teacher had told me that he was a bright kid, but just didn’t put forth the effort required to excel. My son came home every day telling me about the amazing learning experience he was having with TutorOne. He did score a 4 on his Spanish II test, and his overall grade point average went from a 2.9 (D) to a 4.8 (A+) in Spanish, and a 1.7 (F) to a 4.0 (A) in English. Most importantly though, my son learned to love his studies and got a kick out of seeing his grades soaring. It was truly eye opening to see how one lesson per week changed everything." ~ Lisa H.,Parent, California
