Because everyone wants better grades.
Why wait until after high school graduation? High schools across North America are implementing mandatory foreign language requirements during student transitions from elementary through high school. These courses demand attention and commitment during years when education budgets shrink, along with curricula offerings due to declining enrollments. Many districts find themselves stretched thin, offering only introductory level language programs that lack breadth or relevance.
Because everyone needs job opportunities.
French isn’t just useful for career advancement; employers increasingly view fluency in languages other than English as critical assets required by business professionals. And because international growth is becoming a larger part of Canada’s overall economic picture, many organizations are expanding recruitment efforts outside traditional geographic boundaries. Whether you graduate next year or 2040, chances are excellent you’ll be working somewhere that requires some degree of “foreign” proficiency.
It takes hours upon hours of work to produce these guides but I appreciate every single person who buys my books! Here is yet another example of me being silly and thanking people for buying my product without really understanding why and how they buy things anyway.
I’m going to pretend like writing guides is like having a baby and that all those people are moms/dads whose child is finally old enough to leave home and no longer needs them around 24/7. Because that’s what it feels like sometimes. I get asked lots of different questions about the subject matter covered inside each book which I cover below. Let’s dive right in shall we?How exactly did you come up with the idea for the “Canadian Living Guide Series”?Well actually...this was supposed to happen way faster than it ended up happening!
But first things first, I am Canadian born living on both sides of the border, married to a man twice my age and father 4 kids aged 14+,9-,5,-and2yearsold.
It’s really good because it opens doors everywhere. Whether you live in rural Canada, or urban Toronto, most employers prefer candidates who speak English along side their native language. If you master both languages, then life would be more enjoyable, especially outside where travelling abroad becomes easier.
We work with students across many different age groups in order to provide comprehensive private lessons covering all basic grammatical points. We offer 1 hour per week sessions which cover basic phrases through conversational topics like weather, people, dates and times. However, we understand every student learns differently so we cater individualized courses in consultation with parents/students. Our coursework teaches students to use grammar effectively, giving confidence and self-esteem when speaking French. At the end of every lesson, we analyze a short text passage and help students improve their abilities further at home.
• What does BEST mean for tutoring services?
This refers to a special place to learn Spanish. We love sharing eurekas (sparkles), whether they come from a subject matter point of view, teaching methodologies, or just fun things. All these little events get captured during the day to prepare articles for our website and newsletter. Once published, those stories continue to generate traffic via search engines leading to us serving as teachers of the highest standard available.
We believe knowledge must be shared. A lot happens online but not enough goes offline in real world experiences, which leads us all to feel connected less. As a result, we teach our students how to connect, communicate, collaborate and lead in this digital landscape. We focus primarily on business communication (written and oral). Language skills (especially pronunciation and fluency) take priority over vocabulary memorization because understanding words matters far less than being able to express yourself without fear of error.
While many languages offer plenty of self-study options, they often fall short because they lack personalized support like that provided with teacher intervention. Students seeking extra guidance and motivation will appreciate the added attention and encouragement available through private instruction. As soon as you enroll, the instructor will reach back out in 24 hours or less to personally connect. Our qualified instructors will work with you one on one, tailoring the experience to suit your schedule to maximize efficiency and ensure your highest level of satisfaction. We deliver high quality content, which includes videos, readings, flashcards, discussion boards, games and quizzes tailored specifically to Canadian Francophone culture. All of this material supports student engagement, making it easier to get better quickly.
We’re confident every learner will find one thing she does enjoy once enrolled; whether it’s listening to your favourite music while studying or watching tv shows together with friends after class, no matter what type of personality you have, we’ll develop a unique lesson tailored perfectly to fit your tastes and interests. Our commitment to ensuring students feel engaged begins immediately, starting with the first lesson! By scheduling online video tutorials and live sessions regularly throughout the week, we keep everyone up to date on current discussions or cultural topics they’re most interested in so you always stay aware of what’s going on around you. And since we do everything face to face, you’ll really see improvements come naturally, especially because we take notes just for fun.

There are many ways that families living in French communities around Canada can introduce their kids to this beautiful language. Here are some ideas you should consider taking part in during 2020:
Explore community events. Check out local francophone clubs and associations in your area. Many organize regular meetings and workshops that teach their members useful tips and tricks related to life in and around Quebec. Some groups even hold fun competitions like Jeux de langue and Jardins dans le français. If no group exists nearby, consider starting your own. A great place to find inspiration and support is online through Facebook groups like « Francophonie du Nouvelle », which boasts nearly 100K followers.
Go for coffee dates. One way to learn another culture without having to speak it fluently is to simply sit down together and enjoy a latte. Grab a cup of hot cocoa and watch movies or play board games together.
Get involved with organizations. Find opportunities to volunteer or participate in the cultural life of your community; most places host a wide range of festivals, shows and other celebrations. For example, the annual Festival International des Gilets Rouges takes place in Trois-Pistoles, Que, a small town just south of Montreal.
Have lunch (and dinner!) with someone who speaks french. Ask a friend or neighbor if you could join him for lunch sometime soon. Chatting over drinks helps break barriers and opens doors to communication.
Make friends with bilingual teachers. Most parents understand the importance of encouraging their kid(s) to communicate in both English and French. However, it’s often easier said than done. Teachers in French schools usually spend hours every week working on teaching materials, so be prepared to pitch in.
In addition to great scenery, Foothills county boasts some of the most beautiful parks and lakes available anywhere in Canada, including Big Hill Park, which has stunning panoramic views across the valley, the historic parkland surrounding Fort Calgary, and the beautiful Larch Valley Golf Course. These natural attractions provide endless possibilities for outdoor adventures, while the numerous festivals hosted locally ensure residents never miss another fun event!
Whether you’d like individual lessons or group classes offered through schools, universities or community centers, our team provides quality tuition in both English and Spanish languages. We offer a wide range of programs for everyone interested in improving themselves and their knowledge, whether it be language training for business professionals looking to expand their career horizons, ESL instruction for non-native speakers aiming to advance academically or prepare to enter the workforce, or general conversation courses designed for those wishing to get comfortable speaking in front of a crowd. Our team includes native and bilingual teachers certified by leading organizations like CCEFL and TESOL. All sessions take place in comfortable and accessible settings in order to facilitate real conversations and help learners become confident communicators!

If you haven’t tried to live overseas yet, the following list highlights several cities outside North America where English isn’t natively spoken; therefore, it’s imperative to find quality ESL teachers, or hire an experienced local teacher fluent in both languages, to help you attain proficiency in French quickly.
Why online schools should be considered when teaching English language learners remains a controversial topic; however, there’s no denying that many families today prefer to supplement traditional classroom instruction for various reasons including cost savings, convenience and flexibility. Additionally, if the idea of sending children away during school hours sounds like something only seen in movies or TV shows, then perhaps enrolling in an independent online program may just allow students to receive a better education than ever before without having to sacrifice valuable family time. After all, who said quality time could only come from behind closed doors?!? We couldn’t agree more!
What exactly makes us stand apart from other companies offering private schooling? Well, firstly, we understand that every child learns differently (and often this isn’t always evident), which is why we strive to accommodate every student regardless of their level. Secondly, unlike most providers, we only offer small class sizes, something that provides parents peace of mind knowing that they won’t find themselves trying to squeeze 10+ kids into one class room at once. And finally, we take pride in building relationships with both staff members and families through personalized service and high levels of transparency.
We provide English Language Learners’ programs across 12 locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, giving you direct access to top educators for your specific needs! So whether you live outside of Vancouver BC or Calgary AB, Tutor One will deliver the support you need to build strong foundations during these crucial years of development, ensuring that your children become passionate readers, writers and speakers of their own mother tongue by age 15 and beyond.

Who Should Adopt TutorOne’s Tutoring Methodology?
Every parent knows that the average public school education system has its faults, but few know that there are alternatives. Every year, parents become educated more about the effectiveness of individualizing children’s education. They understand that learning styles and learning strategies vary greatly among students and that students require additional focus and encouragement to excel, especially in subjects such as math, science, and reading. Students learn differently than adults; children absorb knowledge faster and retain it longer than adults can; and they’re less prone to procrastination. TutorOne’s comprehensive approach teaches kids to think positively, and teaches students when they don’t perform up to par.
Testimonial By A Parent Like You
"My son recently turned 15, and started taking Advanced Placement exams. He was doing quite poorly in Spanish II and English III, having scored only a 2 and 3 respectively. With one week left before he needed to take the AP test, I decided to enroll him in TutorOne Private Tutoring. His teacher had told me that he was a bright kid, but just didn’t put forth the effort required to excel. My son came home every day telling me about the amazing learning experience he was having with TutorOne. He did score a 4 on his Spanish II test, and his overall grade point average went from a 2.9 (D) to a 4.8 (A+) in Spanish, and a 1.7 (F) to a 4.0 (A) in English. Most importantly though, my son learned to love his studies and got a kick out of seeing his grades soaring. It was truly eye opening to see how one lesson per week changed everything." ~ Lisa H.,Parent, California
The TutorOne Difference
As you are now finding out, TutorOne offers a wide variety of different levels, age ranges, and subjects to accommodate all individual learning styles. What sets us apart from other programs is our commitment to educating and encouraging each student’s individuality, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning. TutorOne is committed to the belief that every student thrives best in a positive, fun-loving, nurturing learning environment. We encourage our students to explore new ideas and engage in hands-on learning situations. TutorOne does not believe that children benefit from being confined to a class room in front of a standard curriculum all day long.
The TutorOne Difference is about creating an engaging atmosphere in which kids feel motivated to excel. The majority of TutorOne schools operate as small academies; they offer individual learning environments that allow students to interact within a group or with one-to-one tutors.
