What makes Tutoring different than other similar services — like online courses or private lessons? Does the idea of bringing something unique and unexpected every week sound appealing to you? If so, then read on!
Why should someone work with me? Why would I get paid good money to hang out in my pajamas every day waiting for kids who struggle to come home? Here are some things worth considering…
1. People value quality over quantity
There are many teachers who teach only once per quarter — which seems great because all those hours spent teaching aren’t lost for nothing. But when you offer quality education in small doses, everyone wins. Students retain information better, and parents appreciate having fewer commitments during the school term. Not to mention it feels really rewarding to see student improvements. When was the last time you took the lead role in setting somebody’s life straight by getting them to realize they had potential that could go far beyond anything they thought possible?
2. You care about education
I’m no stranger to caring about what goes on inside schools today. After spending years working as a district administrator, I still feel passionate about seeing children succeed despite obstacles. Education isn’t always fun; sometimes its frustrating and tiring. And yes, sometimes kids are actually just very challenging. But regardless of whether you’re dealing with learning disabilities or behavioral issues, most students deserve to experience some level of hope and positivity. We just happen to deliver that through the educational tool of music. A lot of times what looks like failure turns into breakthrough for these kids.
About Us: Founded in 2004 with offices located in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Winnipeg, TutorOne offers customized solutions for clients all across North America allowing them to expand their knowledge online without sacrificing their current schedule.

This report from Educational Review found that most states saw a rise in cases of depression among teens ages 15–19 years old.
http://educationalreviewjournal.us/2017-studies-impact-teens-depression-and-suicide-rates/
In 2018, suicide claimed 2nd place amongst teenagers age 10–14, following bullying, as a leading cause of death after accidents https://amzn.to/2C6ZQqb
“Teenagers who experience difficulties concentrating and focusing due to sensory issues find reading books extremely difficult and even painful, often causing symptoms such as headaches or stomach aches. This impacts their ability to learn effectively whether they read for pleasure or study material and this in turns contributes towards poor academic outcomes especially for those whose first language isn’t English. Children born prematurely can suffer from delayed speech development and children born underweight struggle physically, having trouble eating adequately and sustaining energy levels. All children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder are known to have problems comprehending non-verbal communication and understanding the emotions in others that contribute to reduced social interactions and isolation from peers”.

2) Identifying a Child that Has a Learning Disability. If you suspect your child or teenager suffers from any kind of developmental delays then the first step is to identify them in a professional setting. A qualified teacher or psychologist must conduct an assessment which involves observing a young individual and asking questions regarding things like speech and communication patterns, memory functions, fine motor abilities, attention spans and emotional awareness levels among many others. Once the initial interview takes place, there should always be follow ups conducted once every six months unless the circumstances dictate otherwise. After identifying the issue, there are several options available to tackle the problem; some of them being early intervention services, academic enrichment programs, adaptive technology devices, specialized curricula or tutoring sessions just to mention a few of them.
Today, most provinces offer publicly funded alternative programs designed specifically for individuals who require extra help studying math, reading or anything else related to their primary educational subjects. These specialized programs generally provide an enhanced classroom setting as well as individualized instruction as necessary. As a result families can find this form of education convenient for several reasons: accessibility, convenience, cost-effectiveness, proximity to family/friends, and overall quality of experience. More importantly though, many families realize that the program is actually beneficial to everyone involved; especially the student.
Parents can be relieved knowing that the government provides funding for accommodations, classes beyond regular curriculum hours and various teaching aids. Also of note, the government supports tutoring services which further enhance the success rate for qualified students regardless of their age. Many teachers recommend offering assistance through afterschool clinics to ensure that students receive the same high level attention and guidance. Some schools are able to schedule special events with community organizations or local charities that cater towards kids with additional needs. Such arrangements allow for student participation in non academic based clubs such as sports teams, dance groups, music lessons, arts & crafts projects, camp experiences, and more. Although some parents still feel concerned about exposing children to outside influences, most agree that participating in community activities offers greater opportunities than sitting around watching TV or playing video games. For example, you can always visit www.specialneedsreddeerontario.org to learn about many amazing organizations that work daily to improve the lives of people with disabilities.
“This video shows a little boy who had some special needs. While watching the above clip, please take note of these things:
1.) Notice how they’re playing outside?
2.) Can you see how well behaved this child is during their playtime?
3.) Do you see a difference?”
How should I approach teaching children with special educational needs? These are questions many people ask themselves after becoming involved with families dealing with kids who struggle academically or behaviourally. As a teacher, parent and educator, one person’s opinion may differ from another’s. However, there are certain tips that everyone could benefit from. We’d love to hear your thoughts. Who Should Adopt TutorOne’s Tutoring Methodology?
Every parent knows that the average public school education system has its faults, but few know that there are alternatives. Every year, parents become educated more about the effectiveness of individualizing children’s education. They understand that learning styles and learning strategies vary greatly among students and that students require additional focus and encouragement to excel, especially in subjects such as math, science, and reading. Students learn differently than adults; children absorb knowledge faster and retain it longer than adults can; and they’re less prone to procrastination. TutorOne’s comprehensive approach teaches kids to think positively, and teaches students when they don’t perform up to par.
Testimonial By A Parent Like You
"My son recently turned 15, and started taking Advanced Placement exams. He was doing quite poorly in Spanish II and English III, having scored only a 2 and 3 respectively. With one week left before he needed to take the AP test, I decided to enroll him in TutorOne Private Tutoring. His teacher had told me that he was a bright kid, but just didn’t put forth the effort required to excel. My son came home every day telling me about the amazing learning experience he was having with TutorOne. He did score a 4 on his Spanish II test, and his overall grade point average went from a 2.9 (D) to a 4.8 (A+) in Spanish, and a 1.7 (F) to a 4.0 (A) in English. Most importantly though, my son learned to love his studies and got a kick out of seeing his grades soaring. It was truly eye opening to see how one lesson per week changed everything." ~ Lisa H.,Parent, California
The TutorOne Difference

TutorOne is committed to the belief that every student thrives best in a positive, fun-loving, nurturing learning environment. We encourage our students to explore new ideas and engage in hands-on learning situations. TutorOne does not believe that children benefit from being confined to a class room in front of a standard curriculum all day long.
The TutorOne Difference is about creating an engaging atmosphere in which kids feel motivated to excel. The majority of TutorOne schools operate as small academies; they offer individual learning environments that allow students to interact within a group or with one-to-one tutors.
